{"id":4575,"date":"2022-12-12T16:38:51","date_gmt":"2022-12-12T16:38:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/?p=4575"},"modified":"2022-12-12T16:43:02","modified_gmt":"2022-12-12T16:43:02","slug":"nacs-cpg-trends-product-innovations-and-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/nacs-cpg-trends-product-innovations-and-more\/","title":{"rendered":"NACS: CPG Trends, Product Innovations and More"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What is known today as the annual National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) Show debuted in 1993 and has rotated between three cities: Chicago, Las Vegas and Atlanta. The NACS Show brings together convenience and fuel retailing industry professionals for four days of learning, buying, selling, networking and fun \u2013 all designed to help participants grow their bottom line.<\/p>\n<p>While the show took a hiatus due to COVID-19, the industry is back and bigger than ever. In fact, the 2022 NACS Show in Las Vegas had the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> highest attendance in the show\u2019s history. We had the honor of building some of the booths for our clients at this show as well as walk the show floor to understand current trends in the industry.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>On the Floor<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>New products and innovations were shown throughout the show floor. Starbucks unveiled a brand new line of bottled products that are based on their popular Refresher drinks. Other beverage brands have expanded their portfolio by tapping into the alcohol category. For example, Mountain Dew debuted its new Hard Mountain Dew while Monster Energy introduced its new BEAST malt beverage which contains 6% ABV.<\/p>\n<p>One interesting design in the Monster Energy booth was its usage of curved LED boards that mimic the shape of a can. The benefit of this design is the images can be swapped out to display the packaging design of different product variations while bringing movement and excitement to the show floor.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4580\" src=\"https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"417\" srcset=\"https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_1-624x416.jpg 624w, https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_1.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Brands were also utilizing their products in unique ways as design elements. Tobacco company ITG Brands used oversized replicas of their products as wall separators that couldn\u2019t be missed on the show floor. Wall separators also took the form of can walls in several beverage brand booths. Celcius, Pacifico and Anheuser-Busch all favored this design element.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4579\" src=\"https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_2-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"417\" srcset=\"https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_2-624x416.jpg 624w, https:\/\/switch.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Switch-Blog_NACS_2.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And of course, experiential marketing \u2013 beyond the typical \u201cspin the wheel\u201d game \u2013 was weaved throughout the exhibits.
