Meet Amanda Fleming, our AP Specialist + Special Projects Accountant, who\u2019s been part of the Switch family for nine years. Known around the office for her humor, kindness, and delightfully unique charm, Amanda is the kind of teammate who brings both laughter and light wherever she goes.<\/p>\n
Looking back on her time at Switch, Amanda says she\u2019s most proud of her work with SwitchLife. This passion project connects people and fosters an enthusiastic, united, and compassionate workplace. \u201cOur company is so talented,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s impossible not to want to cheer everyone on!\u201d<\/p>\n
Outside of accounting spreadsheets, Amanda\u2019s known for some fun quirks \u2013 like her childhood obsession with frogs (now just a \u201cnormal\u201d love, she insists). She also finds joy in helping others, whether that\u2019s answering questions, holding open doors, or simply being a friendly face. \u201cI\u2019m a helper,\u201d she says, quoting her childhood hero Mr. Rogers.<\/p>\n
When asked what advice she\u2019d give her first-day self, Amanda laughs: \u201cThings are never going to be \u2018standard\u2019 here, and that\u2019s okay! Nine years later, and I\u2019m still working on that one.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her favorite part of the job? The people, and the chance to lend a hand whenever she can. It\u2019s a mindset she carries from a favorite piece of work advice: \u201cYou get paid the same no matter what, so do what you can to help the team \u2013 as long as it\u2019s not illegal, immoral, or unethical.\u201d<\/p>\n
And in true Amanda fashion, her favorite life advice comes straight from a bumper sticker: \u201cBe kind, we\u2019re all idiots.\u201d<\/p>\n
When she\u2019s not at Switch, Amanda loves jogging, crafting, traveling, and finding new adventures. As a kid, she dreamed of becoming Christa McAuliffe. Amanda says. \u201cShe was a teacher and an astronaut, and I wanted to be both, too.\u201d<\/p>\n
When it comes to Switch traditions, Amanda has her favorites. \u201cI love In-DIP-endence Day and the Chili Cookoff. We definitely need more food competition days\u2026 I just really like food.\u201d<\/p>\n
