Lately I’ve rediscovered 1990s rock – from bands such as Reel Big Fish, who had completely fallen off my radar, to Pearl Jam. I was listening to 105.7 The Point over Labor Day Weekend when they played the top 500 songs of the 90s. It took me back to my high school days and helped me rediscover songs I used to be completely obsessed with and had, over time, completely forgotten about.

Something I find myself coming back to all of the time is the website Atlas Obscura. It appeals to the part of me that has always liked reading and hearing about mysterious places. Atlas Obscura is its own kind of tourism guidebook, featuring shipwrecks, magic shops, private toy collections and homemade amusement parks.
The search-by-location feature provides pretty accurate maps and directions to reach these places, and it’s encouraged that you actually go to them. It’s a site for explorers or people looking for an adventure – and has a good possibility of being a part of the plans for your next vacation. My favorite part is reading about the eccentric people who make some of the places possible.
