Walking through the 2026 Sweets & Snacks Expo was like entering a giant candy aisle. Since it’s been a few years since our last visit, I wanted to share some fresh observations.

Supersized to Stop You

On the visual storytelling front, a major trend we saw right away was brands using huge product replicas and packaging displays to catch people’s eyes. Companies turned well-known snacks into fun photo spots. Feastables had giant chocolate bars and gummies; Dum Dums showed off big suckers towering over their booth; Takis had a massive chip bag; Bimbo displayed an oversized Mini Muffins package; Mallow Pop and Pocky used large versions of their products to draw crowds and create memorable moments.

Bright, Bouncy, and Fun

Besides the large displays, many booths used bright colors, rounded shapes, and playful touches to showcase their creativity. Brands like Hi-Chew, Fini, Nerds, Katjes, and 7 Stick Jelly used bold colors and fun layouts that made their spaces feel lively and welcoming. Many exhibits mixed retail and interactive design, making it easy for people to explore, take photos, and share their experiences. The whole event showed just how important visual storytelling is in the snack and candy world.

The Wellness Shift in Snacking

Another big trend this year was the rise of snacks focused on nutrition and healthier choices. Compared to past shows, more brands were talking about protein, plant-based ingredients, and snacks with added benefits. Main Event Protein Bars and Wilde Protein Snacks offered high-protein options for active people, while Iron Maxx featured protein drinks for those interested in fitness and wellness. Katjes also made an impression with its vegan gummies, showing that even classic candy brands are changing to meet new tastes.

Making Sure Snacking is Strategic and Experiential

The 2026 Sweets & Snacks Expo showed that snacking is about more than just taste and treats. It’s also about the experience, creative branding, and new ideas. From giant displays to interactive booths and healthier snacks, brands found smart ways to stand out and connect with people in a busy market. We can’t wait for next year!
