Sparkling ICE at SXSW 2019

Event Management + Training 

Switch handled the product launch and the 2019 sampling program for Reign Total Body Fuel. The popularity of Game of Thrones and the fact that “The Mountain” from the show acts as one of their spokespeople served as the driving force for the “Reign Thrones” we created for different markets. At the launch event in the heart of New York City, we had photo opportunities with both of their spokespeople, Hafthor Bjornsson (Game of Thrones) and Natalie Eva Marie (former WWE wrestler), along with the Reign Throne.

Competitive challenges that test strength were created for activations and booths in target markets. These engaging activations were interactive while still driving product trial with their fitness-focused audience. To date, Switch has launched Reign in 16 markets through 791 events. This has resulted in over 90,000 samples distributed.

 

Operations + Logistics

Uber and Target turned to Switch to bring to life a unique and surprising musical experience that Chicago wasn’t expecting. Switch branded vehicles that would become mobile stages for some of the hottest up-and-coming musical acts, including The Kooks from England. The activation was kept under wraps during Lollapalooza, surprising Chicago fans when they received a pop-up concert in-app option at the time of booking an Uber ride. Over the course of six hours, the four mobile stages relocated to different Chicago neighborhoods to surprise passengers with a rotation of six popular bands.

Prominently displaying the official #UberLIVE hashtag, participants enjoying these impromptu concerts posted their reactions and photos on social media, where the buzz quickly escalated and drew national attention.

 

Immersive Experiences + Storytelling

Switch designed and executed a large activation at SXSW for Sparkling Ice that gave consumers a multi-sensory experience. By appealing to their five senses, we created a giant scent wall made out of Sparkling Ice bottles, a fun, bubble-inspired activity to touch, and a visual and audio experience throughout. This resulted in a unique activation that become a shareable Instagram-worthy experience.

This scalable activation went on to be setup at other festivals and events as well. Switch has activated Sparkling Ice in 14 markets through 502 events. These events have resulted in 557,932 samples distributed and 592,121 interacted consumers.

 

Design + Fabrication

Kite Hill couldn’t just tell people their non-dairy yogurt was tasty. It needed to prove it with memorable sampling events and consumer interactions. At the Wanderlust Festival, we built a custom 10’x10’ pop-up for Kite Hill that showcased the brand’s identity with an eye-catching design. The contemporary white tile and marble countertop created a uniquely branded space that let the food take center stage. Build-your-own yogurt parfaits and cream cheese toast with a special “Unicorn Toast” recipe was served just for Wanderlusters.

Once guests were welcomed into the tent, they were given the opportunity to write a mindful mantra on the almond cut-outs which were then put on display. Over the course of the event, 10,000 samples were provided and countless compliments on the booth design were received.

 

Data Collection + Reporting 

Okapi is our premier cloud-based software for data collection. It allows us to measure, monitor, and manage field data, surveys, and supporting documentation across multiple events, locations, and campaigns. Working with both B2B and B2C brands, okapi collects data from brand ambassadors for quick reporting and decision making.
